That really begs the question "How popular/well-known (in India)
is
Marilyn Manson?
--
I would love Shreya anyway, but I think that it is fun that she is as cute as her voice!
About the first I saw of her was the extras disc for Krrish, shyly saying that she is a fan of Hrithik and so when he came to the studio during recording, she was very happy to meet him.
Total bonding moment.

SHAILENDRA SINGH (the voice behind "Bobby", etc.).
Thanks so much for posting the pic of Shailendra Singh. I don't know why he's not more popular. I love the Soundtrack to Bobby - still listen today (heck almost every day).

FINALLY someone
else
out there who shows some respect towards Shailendra! "Bobby" was Shailendra's most-known work, mostly due to the fact that it was a Raj Kapoor production. Aside from that, he sung quite a few numbers (mostly for Mithun and a few for Randhir Kapoor), though none surpassed his performances in "Bobby". He's my second favorite male playback singer (after Mukesh). Such sweet, calm and serene voice is certainly unmatched!

A quick search on IMDB showed that SS had performed on over 70 films - i never would have guessed! I guess i'll have to rent some of those. "Calm and serene" is the perfect description. It's funny, since Bobby was one of the first movies I saw, it's SS's voice that I associate w/ Rishi Kapoor.

I've always loved his voice and songs and was so surprised when I first saw the change. Wonder how it happened?
And does anyone know whether his voice has been changed or not? I have no idea if the shape of one's body really has any impact on one's voice so excuse my ignorant question

^^According to my friend who's a voice instructor and opera singer, it's a question of lung capacity and strength. If he lost the weight by exercising then that'll help his voice stay strong as it was with the extra pounds on. Good for him for taking charge of his health that way!

Ooo! My favorites too. (Along with Udit, K.K., Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Vishal Dadlani, Neeraj Sridhar...) (Probably for the millionth time but, thanks for the pics, Ratnaleka!)
I love the one of Shaan, grinning away like an idiot. No offense to Rajshri productions in general but, Shaan's voice + Sonu Sood = the main reason I would drive 3 hours to see Ek Vivah (not that is seems to be playing in Chicago but...)

Anushka Manchanda, who sings 'Tu Saala' from Golmaal returns which I do quite like
Saw her performing it on Star Plus, it was funny 'cause she danced and everything (not your usual playback-singer-in-the-background job?)

I could be way off, but did she do any of the songs from
Cash
? I thought an Anushka ladki sang a few songs on the soundtrack and she was a previous member of some sort of girl pop group in India. So if it's the same one, that would explain the dance moves. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Well, I'm not sure if everyone here is a playback singer(I don't think Shruti is), but they're definitely singers.
Shruti Hassan, Anushka Manchanda, Hard Kaur, Monica Dogra and Sona Mohapatra.
