In the UK, Orange and T-mobile have merged their mobile phone networks to give better coverage. The website describing the changes is
https://kareena.orange.co.uk/signal
, which felt like a completely gratuitous Bollywood reference until I remembered that Geet in JWM inspires a mobile phone product. So I like to think that is the reason behind the website name, though I'm probably completely wrong.

The trailer
for Sacha Baron Choen's new film The Dictator, has a Bollywood song in it. It sounds very familiar to me, but I cannot place it.
Can someone help?
And MrB: That is so cool!

The song is Mundian To Bach Ke by Panjabi MC (Beware of the Boys - Jay Z remix). I have the album with this song on, but personally prefer the original version to the one used in that trailer.

Ha ha I just ordered this game from amazon because they had this song in it! I love that, and here's hoping for more BW songs in the future.

On my facebook page, on the right side with the sponsored ads, one of the ads is the dental plan offered by my university and it has a picture of Bipasha Basu (or maybe someone that looks exactly like her).

This isn't exactly Bollywood in the most unexpected places, it's more like India in the most unexpected places, I think. But there's a street named after Ganesh in the Los Angeles suburbs
I think I've posted about this before. Here is a pic of the sign
Oh shucks I totally re-sized in my photo account but that pic is coming out huge!
Edited...trying this one more time:
Haha shucks again, now it's so small you can barely read it, oh well
(It reads "Ganesha Avenue" in white letters on blue.)

^ That's interesting, I wonder if they asked permission to use her name.
I'm a self absorbed idiot (haha) so I'm always looking for things with my name on it...I did once come across a lovely tiny set of "Gowri Puja" bindis which I promptly bought and then I asked if I could have the box too hehe
So this is more like Bollwhat in the most unexpected places rather than Bollywood in most unexpected places, but in Los Angeles Little India there's a street with the same name as poster Corbie. I've posted about this once before
Except they spell it with a "y" instead of "ie" at the end
So I took a pic of the sign from my car:
Edited: How could I forget?! Leafness, there's also a vegan cafe named "Leaf" in Los Angeles!
I've never been there but apparently they have lots of delicious vegan dishes:
Names of Bollywhat folks are all over my hometown LOL [

I hadn't looked at this thread for awhile. They named a street after me?
Anyway. I got my package from India today. I was with a client and my husband got it from the the DSL guy. He handed to my husband and said "feels like Bollywood"

My friend from Kyrgyzstan asked me 'do you know a song that goes 'Jimmy Jimmy...aaja aaja!' over and over again? My parents used to be obsessed with it but it drove me nuts!'
I guess that's not completely unexpected because ani_naja says that Disco Dancer was also huge in Armenia but Russia was completely a surprise to me!

Priyanka: I don’t know, I think I’m very important in her life somehow.
Karan: *shakes head* Be specific please.
Priyanka: Um, she just always has a lot to say about me. So I’m presuming I’m important in her life.
~
Q: So Priyanka you open up the newspaper and see Kareena saying, 'Heroine will be better than Fashion so who cares about a national award.'
Priyanka: Well, I guess if you don't have one... then, sour grapes, what do I say!
