Arwen,
Sidharth was really good in telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. Check it out.

I don't think there will be many voters for it, but we can do it here too.
Used to be Maddy, now its Surya IMO.
Actress best looking....tough choice...everyone has different features which make them the best looking.
If I have to choose...I think I'll go with Asin.

Comedians and Supporting Actors
Comedians
Ali
Telugu comedian.
Brahmanadam
The top comedian in Andhara Pradesh.
Charlee and Vaiyapuri
Charlee on the left, Vaiyapuri on the right. No, there not always together, just couldn't get a decent pic of Charlee. Charlee can be funny, certainly he was in
'Friends'
.
Dharmavarapu
Usually plays comedic characters in Telugu film.
Kovai Sarala
As above.
Manivannan
Mainly Tamil film. Was a director before he became an actor.
Raghubabu
Telugu film.
Ramesh Khanna
Tamil comedian.
Senthil
Tamil film especially with Rajini.
Sunil
The other top comedian in Andhara Pradesh.
Vadivelu
One of the two top comedians in Tamil Nadu. In
Imsai arasan 23 pulikesi
, he was the hero.
Venu Madhav
Celebrated ten years in Telugu film recently and was even hero in
Hungama
.
Vivek
The other top comedian in Tamil Nadu. His
Solli Adippen
, where he acts as hero, should be out soon.
Supporting actors and actresses
Anandraj
Usually plays villains but not all the time.
Biju Menon
Keralan actor, though has done Tamil films too.
Heera
Tamil second heroine roles.
Jaya Re
Second heroine roles in Tamil film.
KS Ravikumar
He played Vikram's brother-in-law in
'Arul'
though he is perhaps better known as an accomplished director. Hey! He directed
'Muthu'
which is good enough for me...
Kaniga/Sravanti
Tamil and Telugu actress.
Kota Srinivas Rao
Character actor in Telugu film.
Manorama
Usually plays the kindly mother/grandmother. Though did comedy roles in the past.
Monica
Former Child actress who has mainly done best-freind-of-the-heroine roles.
Murali
Tamil film.
Nandana
A supporting actress in Tamil films. Married in 2006.
Nassar
Seems to be everywhere in Tamil films.
Nizhalgal Ravi
Tamil actor.
Ponnambalam
Usually plays a villain.
Raghuvaran
Plays a wide range of roles from kindly blokes like Vijay's big brother in
'Nerukku Ner'
to unpleasant criminals as in
'Daya'
.
Rajkiran
Character actor recently in playing a wide variety of roles. Though virtually the lead in
Thavamai Thavamirundu
.
Saranya
Tamil supporting actress.
Sharbana Mukherjee
The occasional Tamil film.
Srividhya
Think Khiron Kher, Farida Jalal type mum roles. Sadly no longer with us...
Swarnamalya
Tamil actress.
Vijya Kumar
Tamil and Telugu film.

Madhavan, Surya and Vikram in no particular order. This is really based more on how they look on screen. If I would of seen only pictures of them I might of taken Vikram off the list and put Siddarth instead, but I won't
because Vikram is so *man* on screen, has a powerful screen presence and wonderful range of expression, while Siddarth looks cute but made me slightly irritated when he cried > Boys
There's a lot of great looking gals out there, but I'll go with Sneha , Asin and Sada, and quickly when no one is looking I'll add Jothika because she's one of my favorites
Pyaara, I like that you added Nadiya, I agree she looks great. When I saw her in M.Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi she looked so familiar for some reason. It wasn't until later that I realised that I'd seen her in some film from the 80s (darn imdb for not having comprehensive data)

Actors: Surya, Vikram, Madhavan, Arya, Jeeva (Kaaka Kaaka villain, where the hell is he?)
Actresses: Asin (my number one), Sada, Simran, Sneha, Sandhya, Trisha, Shriya
Stimpy, I agree about Vikram's powerful and manly screen presence.

Dragun and meenkaran, please don't pelt me with stones, but since I've yet to see a film with Sidharth in it, could you please tell me if he's the same guy who was in Jhankaar Beats ( other than Rahul Bose and Sanjay Suri )? He looks awfully like the actor in that movie, who was cast opposite Riya Sen, and I'm just wondering...
He looks kinda cute...might check out M Kumaran et al soon.

Sree, the guy in Jhankaar beats is Shayan Munshi, he was also in My Brother Nikhil. I don't think Siddarth has done that many films; Boys, Ayitha Ezhuthu and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (in telugu) which by all accounts is very much worth seeing.

yes, you're right, I remember that now. Thanks for reminding me. Though I must say there's some physical similarity between the two...

YEAH!!! At least in this poll my Jothika is Number ONE!
I was so happy this summer to finally see all the films Jothika has been working on in the last six months. While none of them was great, it was still fun to watch her in Mayavi, Chandramukhi, and Mass. Now I just have to wait for "June R".

After "watching" Kaakha Kaakha, there is no doubt who is the best actress in Tamil. Usually Jo is so over the top (which is fun) but in KK she showed that she can be understated too. I hope she gets more scripts like that in the future.

Why is Madhavan at the 7th place in that list?
I thought he is very successful. Were his latest movies really flops?

He was successful initially. Now his movies are not really flops, but they are not as successful as his first few. And by the way in tamil this list keeps rotating around every season. The # 1 star is the one who gave the biggest hit most recently.

Madhavan's appeal is mostly in the metros, with exceptions like Run.

Just watch any of Danush's films and your liking for him will fly far far away. Its not his fault really, but he is in some really low class films. His build doesn't allow him to be a hero in normal movies.
What´s wrong with his build?
Does this look like a guy who could kick some ass?
Sure but it depends on ass--

It feels like every film I watch recently, Tamil or Malayalam, has Manoj K. Jayan in it
I must have seen him first in Dhool, where he played the sincere police officer gone mad Inspector Aramughan Karunakaran. He's a malayalam actor, but he's lately doing quite a few tamil films too. The upcoming Santos Sivan's Ananthabhadram is one to look out for, where he plays a mad tantric priest
I wish I would of found a better picture, this just looks so typical

My latest craze - hope the image is visible
ETA - that's Surya and Asin in the latest Tamil film Gajini, which I just watched. The movie is interesting though a little violent, but I've just completely fallen head over heels for Surya esply in this particular song where the still is from - Suttum Vizhi Sudare. I've even taken screenshots on my phone and kept it as a wallpaper and screensaver - yes, am VERY juvenile at the moment!
