I'm curious what resources we all know collectively for people who have already learnt the Urdu alphabet and are now practising their reading. It would be great to know if there were other resources designed for university students/adults, second-language learning materials.

A few resources I'm aware of:

Urdu: Readings in Literary Urdu Prose by Gopi Chand Narang

Introductory Urdu (Volume Two) by C.M. Naim (very helpfully, the Urdu readings here are followed by transliteration to clarify difficult to read Urdu words)

Urdu for children (series) by Sajida Alvi (retired professor of Islamic studies at McGill University).
