I am having the greatest of times watching the debates.  I am just mesmorized by those candidates.  It is the most fascinating thing I have seen, those candidates, but my favorite is Romney because he is the "predator drone" of corporations. If he becomes president he will run the country like a Bain Capital leveraged buyout.  He and his buddies will walk away with trillions and we will be left holding all that debt.  Can't wait for him to be the next Pres.

I'll take Romney over zombie lady, cowboy and the others. Honestly, he is a slimy business man but I think he is saying stuff just to win votes. He is wishy-washy and will probably do everything he says he won't do on the trail. Massachusetts has a good health care system.  Wink Hopefully, there is a man behind the mask. In fact, Romney looks the most robotic precisely because he has been trained to say nonsense during the debate. He just strikes me as a reasonable choice. I hope he does pick a crazy VP though. That will seal the deal. Remember, McCain in 2008?  Smiley

Romney has caused thousands of people a lot of pain by raiding the companies they were working for.  I don't think that this will be overlooked in the general election nor can it be overcome in the end.  By being a predatory capitalistic sob he has sealed his own fate of never ever becoming the POTUS.

According to Romney, to criticize him for doing this in the past is the same as attacking "American Capitalism."  But what does capitalism mean?  It means a clean open fair marketplace.  Bain Capital does not represent  that type of capitalism in my opinion.  I am not even sure how what Bain Capital did could even be legal, it is a symptom of what the American capitalist system has evolved to I guess.  A sick predatory system.

WOW! Really? Although there are some problems and issues that need fixing in the American capitalistic system, Its not as bad as others, like the socialistic run system in India of the liberal left congress party who have remained in power 90% of the time since India came to be 65 years ago  for e.g. who have successfully maintained 600 million to be dirt poor and continue to maintain those 600 million dirt poor. The US is nowhere close to that.

The good thing about the US Political system is, the conservatives and the liberals have pretty much equal power, so there is balance where either are unable to destroy the nation.  Unlike India where the liberal left have  destroyed the republic on the account of India having a single party/single family in control for almost forever.   JMO.

I have to disagree with your assessment about political power being equal in the United States.  If it were so then why is the top 1% controlling the country?  What you are saying makes little sense when you come down on the ground and look at reality.  America is living on borrowed time right now and so is much of the world to be honest.

The realtiy in America these days  is that the younger people are going to have a much lower standard of living then their parents and grandparents in the sense that they will not be able to afford their own homes and/or buy new cars.  Food will be very expensive and medical care will be almost inaccessible for most people except for the very rich.  Sure they might be able to have a computer or smartphone, but that is about it for most of them.  They will be working for lower wages, even people with college degrees and graduate degrees.  It is going to be a dreary future for most unless things miraculously change, which I doubt they will or it will be fast enough.

In the meantime America will become more of a police state (it really is already but most people are still not aware of it.)  People will be imprisoned or disappeared just like under regimes such as Stalin and those in South America in the 1980's.   America already is the country with the most prisoners in the world per capita and by the numbers, so I am not making this up, it is already happening.

Everything I say and others who say it a lot better than me is already here. You just have to wake up and see it.

Hey all, in order to keep tempers cool in a season (and era) when political differences too quickly evolve into fights, don't post about any political stances you don't have a citation for. You know how to Google; it shouldn't be too hard. See examples below.

Uncited allegation, should not be posted: I hear Rick Santorum wants to ban all forms of birth control.

Cited fact, feel free to post: Rick Santorum says he does not want to ban your birth control, but he believes that birth control is not biblically sanctioned and is "dangerous" (cite, cite).
or,

Uncited allegation, should not be posted: Most fans of Santorum thinks a woman's place is barefoot in the kitchen.

Cited fact, feel free to post: Rick Santorum employs a staffer who is concerned that a female president would be against the will of God. (cite)

In short, I'm asking that you do a little research before throwing out inflammatory statements -- and many of the statements WILL be inflammatory because, my God, have you listened to the candidates this year? Wink

Bonus: by including citations for your statements, others can then examine the source and discuss its credibility with you, rather than attacking your credibility. Friendlier discussion = happier forum!

Cheers,
THE ADMIN

google did not black out - it did add a black bar and links to info about SOPA, but it was definitely business as usual at the Chocolate Factory.

http://www.petside.com/article/mitt-romney-admits-family-dog-rode-roof-his-car-12-hour-trip (documented)

I heard this and thought it must be a made up story. Apparently not. I know absolutely nothing about this guy as I stopped watching all the politics as it was affecting my PB. Comedy friend told me last night and I thought she was joking.

She had told a joke about how to make a roller coaster ride more fun. As it is pulling out hold up a big bolt and proclamation loudly. "I wonder where this came from?"

A guy who can justify a dog on top of his car in an "airtight" container wants to be president?

Back to not watching the news and realizing this country is screwed.

The dog story is for all the folks who get offended about cruelty to animals.  He has offended so many people in so many ways his electability is very compromised at this point.  Even the fact that he is a Mormon offends the evangelicals.  That is the only part that I don't care about, it is everything else that gives me the heebie jeebies.

I find this offensive. No one should be discriminate him for his beliefs as long as he separates religion from governance. Most people seem obsessed with his religion whereas every other President has been a Christian. Why can't people of other faiths or even an atheist become President? Talk about the hypocrisy of the religious right in these matters.  Roll Eyes

If you are an atheist and you don't keep it a secret you will never be POTUS.  I think that Obama is a closet atheist, that is much worse than saying that he is even a closet muslim as the right wingers like to do as far as most people in the US are concerned.   I find it all quite amusing.

I agree with this, and saw a "joke" timeline the other day that said something like "2008 - 1st black US President elected. 2032 1st female US President elected. 2084 1st atheist US President elected"

Yep. atheists are not welcome here in the States.  In Europe they are in the majority or at least they are major minorities.  I think I am in the wrong country....

I hope that you all heard the latest from Romney, he is not concerned about the very poor because there is a "safety net."  Oh boy that will go well with the bottom 50%.

Almost half of Americans are living from paycheck to paycheck, one illness or accident or a layoff for them will be a disaster, oh I forgot there is a "safety net" and if you believe that, I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn I can sell you.

I know the Repubicans are really saying they don't want to win the white house this year because why would they nominate the epitome of the 1% when so much of the country is finally seeing the light of what the 1% has done to them.  It is so insane.  Looks like Romney will be another failed candidate and I wonder who will be on his ticket.  That person is also doomed to be a faiilure for life as well as far as getting into any executive office.

I am sure if they do win the majority in the house again, it will be another two years of obstructing anything Obama comes up with and why stop that when they are enjoying themselves so much doing it.  If Romney took over, the fun will be over I guess.   So the idea is to get them out of the House and the Senate as much as we can.

I think if the Republicans do take control or when they do there will be plenty of more wars and misery on the global scale and really soon.  But you know what, I am getting bored with the whole farce of the American democracy.  I could barely watch the political shows on TV anymore without just tuning them out.  I have little faith in the political parities as they are today and the truth is we need to fight back against the system by not buying the crap that they want us to buy to keep us mesmerized and hypnotized with their Orwellian speech and nonesense.  Oh well, it is getting so blase already, we are getting desentsitized to the ongoing insanity and contradictions we see every day.  Soon most of us will be zombie like serfs obeying our corporate masters on a dying planet.  Oh, I need to check the TV listings to see when "The Walking Dead" resumes.
