Just like with last year's poll, I'm only talking about big, commercial films, so I haven't included any of the smaller, off-beat movies that I'm looking forward to. I don't think it would be fair, since the alternative/ art movies carry different expectations to the big Bollywood blockbusters. If you're looking forward to a big BW film that is not included in my poll, please mention it in the comments.

ETA: Dhoom 3's been removed from the options and Dedh Ishqiya has been added.

Here are the big films lined up for release next year:

Dedh Ishqiya: The sequel to Ishqiya starring MAdhuri Dixit, Irrfan Khan, Arshad Warsi
Untitled Reema Kagti Project: A murder mystery thriller starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor. Directed by Reema Kagti, written by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar
Agneepath: Karan Johar's Agneepath remake starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt
Shangai: Dibarkar Bannerjee's adaptation of the novel 'Z' starring Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Emraan Hashmi
Ek Main aur Ekk Tu Karan Johar's NRI romcom starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan
Ek Tha Tiger Kabir Khan and Aditya Chopra's thriller starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
Housefull 2 Sequel to SajidKhan's Housefull, starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Asin, Zarine Khan with a Farah Khan-choreographed Malaika Arora Khan item number
Heroine: Madhur Bandarkar's female-centric expose of Bollywood, starring Kareena Kapoor
Players Abbas-Mastan's remake of The Italian Job, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nithin Mukesh
Rowdy Rathore/ Son of Sardar Akshay Kumar's SI-style action flick or Ajay Devgn's SI-style action flick
Joker 3D: Sirish Kunder and Farah Khan's fantasy 3D film starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha
Yash Chopra's next: Yash Chopra's new film, an epic love story starring Shahrukh Khan (what elese?), Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma
Agent Vindo: Sriram Raghavan's much-delayed espionage thriller starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Rakeysh Mehra's biopic of a Punjabi athelete, starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor
I'm really surprised at how so many of the big films already have their release dates confirmed a year in advance. It looks like BW is getting more organized.

For me it's definitely Agneepath. Other films I'm eagerly waiting for are unfortunately not named in the list. Why didn't we at least get an option "Others"?

Btw, you can take out Dhoom 3. It's shifted to 2013.  Wink

OUATIM2: I liked the professionalism that the first one was made with, and this sequel has the same people behind the camera plus more people I like in front of the cameras.  Win-win.

Rather easy one for me. Cheesy It seems I don't get excited very easily about BW projects any more, ....  Undecided

There would be first Aamir's next with Reema Kagti, not just because it's an Aamir film (bur of course that helps too! Tongue) but because the little Khan is always good for a surprise.

And the other would be Agent Vinod as I'm simply curious what Saif has come up with. (considering that Dhoom 3 with Aamir is out of the race for 2012 it seems,....  Undecided)

Well, I had to choose "Heroine" as I'm a bit curious about that project. Not that much, but I wasn't disappointed with "Fashion" or "Chandni Bar" so I think Madhur might come up with something at least more or less interesting. And Yash Chopra's next. I'm not really a big fan of his directing style... But since I'm not really waiting for either Don 2 or Ra One, I might like this one a bit better... Pity it's too far away. And the casting was tremendously disappointing. I wish they had the sense to cast someone of more suitable age for Shahrukh not Anushka and Katrina... I was hoping for Vidya.

I don't think Shanghai at all counts as a big release.

Anyway, my first tier of most awaited are Dedh Ishqiya, Aiyaa and London Paris New York, which aren't in the poll, but actually have actors I can get excited about. The second tier is Agneepath and Reema Kagti's next since my interest in those actors fluctuate greatly. Third tier is Ek Tha Tiger and the Bipasha and Madhavan romcom, which are too far off to have an educated opinion about.

Well it has Emraan Hashmi (who is unfortunately a big, bankable star now) and Dibarkar Bannerjee's earlier film with Abhay Deol was a big hit.  Smiley

And I am really looking forward to Aiya and London Paris Newyork as well!

The Reema Kagti project is currently the only one I'm really looking forward to, although I voted also for Dedh Ishqiya as well, out of fondness for the original, I guess. I just want to see what they do with it...

I'm most looking forward to Agneepath, but I think I've also seen the most promotional materials for it since it's only a couple of months away at this point. Some of these (like the next Yash Chopra movie) I hadn't even heard of yet! I'm open to liking many of the ones you listed, but Salman is a deal-breaker and some of the sequels will need to wait on my seeing the originals.  Roll Eyes

An "other" option would have been useful here. None of these appeal much, if at all, but the Angoor remake with SRK & Bebo that I am looking forward to would not count as "smaller, off-beat", surely?

Is it a confirmed project or just a rumour? If the film is confirmed, I'll add it to the poll options Smiley

I concur with PkG! I also chose Aamir's Reema Kagti-directed project because of what PkG said, and the concept sounds interesting. A bonus is the addition of three powerful actors - you don't get to see that a lot in big budget BW films.  Shocked

And then I also chose SRK's Yash Chopra film. For no specific reason really. Dhoom 3 was out of the race so needed to pick something else  Tongue , and I like SRK.

I admit that I know very little (thodi? thoda?) about all these,
but
I must dare to vote for the Aamir Khan project staring himself Plus Rani Plus Kareena.
He is *such* a story-chooser + producer + actor, anything he touches is gold already,
and Rani and Kareena both (in my humble opinion) have each done such excellent work,
that in combination they might just produce marvels!

I would also vote for a Madhuri Dixit project, if only I were convinced that it would actually be made.

I only voted for Agent Vinod. My interest in other films fluctuates. Bhaag Milkha Baag, for example, sounds intriguing and I adore Farhan but I'm not the biggest fan of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. I'm unsure about Sonam's presence in the film, as well, though I hope she'll prove me wrong. I'm also curious about Dedh Ishqiya, but I doubt it will be as good as the first - especially with both Vidya and Naseer being absent.

wow looking at the list there arent alot of films to interest me but my list would be:

1. Reema's Untitled Venture - Aamir stars in it enough said  Cheesy

2. Ek Main Aur Ek Tu - First time pairing of kareena and Imran interests me so much but individually i adore both too!

3. Heroine - i want to see it only for kareenas performance!

4. Players - It feels like ages since i saw a Bipasha film so am excited, plus abhishek and neil are added bonuses!

Films im not looking forward to and wish would get shelved asap:

1. YC next venture
2. Agneepath

Films im not sure about:

1. Dedh Ishqiya - i loved the first part and am really not liking madhuri in the role, the film was tailor made for Vidya if not her then someone like Rani or Preity would have been beter suited but on flip side its about time madhuri came in another film.

Can I change my vote? Talaash (Aamir's movie) still remains my most awaited movie but instead of SRk's Yash Chopra film, I now wait for Agneepath. I loved the first trailer and this is the first time in a long time that I downloaded the entire album of a movie. Now if only the second trailer impresses, I'm sold. Might watch it in the theater despite my dislike for Hrithik.

Directors pick their most awaited films of the new year, via Rediff:

Zoya Akhtar

Shanghai
Gangs of Wasseypur

Bhaag Mikha Bhaag!

R Balki

Yash Chopra's Next
3- The Why This Kolaveri Di movie
