'Shaadi Fast Forward' for Madhavan-Bipasha starrer
IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, August 10, 2011]

Earlier we had informed you about the fresh jodi which is soon going to grace the screens. R Madhavan and Bipasha Basu were said to be paired up for first time for director Ashwini Chaudhary's forthcoming romantic-comedy.

Latest buzz is that the project has been titled as 'Shaadi Fast Forward'. Besides Madhavan and Bipasha, the film also stars Omi Vaidya, Dipannita Sharma and Mrinalini Sharma.

The first shooting schedule is said to be taking off in Greece and waiting for it, an excited Bipasha posted on her micro-blogging site - "Looking forward to my first day of my first ever romcom, Shaadi Fast Forward! Directed by Ashwini choudhary! Working with Madhavan will be awesome! Super actor:) Also starring in the film is my friend @OmiOneKenobe (Omi Vaidya)! Happy!"

Shaadi Fast Forward is expected to hit the screens in February 2012.

Bipasha Basu and Madhavan are ‘Jodi Breakers’
September 19th, 2011

That is the title of the charming R Madhavan and sexy Bipasha’s first film together

Earlier Madhavan and Bipasha Basu’s romantic comedy together was titled Shaadi Fast Forward. But that was just a makeshift name. Considering that so many Hindi film titles have the word shaadi, the film’s director Ashwin Choudhary wanted something different. After months of discussions, the Good Boy, Bad Boy director settled on a name that they thought was best. It is now called Jodi Breakers! Doesn’t that sound like a Hollywood inspired flick?

Anyway, we recently heard that apart from work Maddy and Bips bonded a lot over fitness. Now that’s a good thing considering the 3 Idiots actor does need some assistance to shed the extra kilos. According to sources, Madhavan’s inspiration behind working with a variety of leading ladies in Hindi films is the unexpected success of his hit Tanu Weds Manu. No one thought he and the quirky Kangna Ranaut would create magic at the box office. But the film not only got good reviews, it also raked in the moolah.

And if you notice, earlier in films a successful romantic pair was repeated till the film flopped, but today’s generation of filmmakers and actors don’t believe in that strategy. Most of them prefer to work with diverse actors to avoid monotony and to bring certain freshness in the film. Is it because of lack of original story ideas? We’d rather not say anything on that and hope that Maddy’s tactic proves lucky for him again.

I think this is the artistry formerly known as Shaadi Fast Forward, so that thread should perhaps be renamed.

I didn't see a topic for this so apologize if I missed it.

First trailer

I like Madhavan as an actor but wish he'd get better stuff to do than this.  Plus its really time for him to lose a bit of weight

This looks terrible. Lips Sealed

I don't think Madhavan should lose weight, he would never be able to compete with the chocolate boy romantic heroes of today anyway. This is not a genre that he is going to find much success in- there is a reason why Kangna Ranaut walked away with all the credit for TWM, even in an industry as male-dominated as BW.

I think he should forget the mindless me too rom-coms like this and cash in on his Everyman looks + his talent by doing films with directors like Dibarkar Bannnerjee, Anurag Kashyap and so on. And obviously not being paired opposite actresses as fit and glamourous as Bipasha Basu.  Roll Eyes

I know the Haters of Hinglish are gonna burn that title at the stake before it's all over, but I think it's cute.  Can't get at the trailer from this computer, so don't have an opinion on that.

He has been known to step outside the box-I've heard decent to good things about his thriller 13B, for instance.  He's also juggling a career in Tamil films at the moment, IIRC.

So, no, I don't think it's a sin for a man whose last Hindi-language success story was as the prop love-interest in a mindless rom-com (second-hand impression of Tanu Weds Manu from the reviews), to make another one.  Dude's gotta pay the bills.

No, it is certainly not a sin. But articulating the career choices that I would like to see him make, since I like him in general but disliked him intensely in TWM,  is not a sin either.  Smiley

I don't particularly hate the Hinglish title, but what I see of the trailer does not excite me for the film.

New song promo Smiley

I think Maddy's only problem (looks-wise) is the second chin - it's pretty prominent and makes him look heavier than he really is.

The movie doesn't look good. Plus, I don't like Bipasha. I think Maddy looks fine. An actor doesn't have to have a six pack and take off his shirt periodically to be a romantic lead. I am tired of seeing that all the time. Maddy has a smile to die for. How many BW heroes can boast of that? He is the male Madhuri Dixit.  Cheesy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzWrgCvCKto

here's the full version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6dxTBxa8FA&feature=player_embedded

i like the song, it has potential, but BB seems to lag behind the choreography and is quite stiff.
I wonder how they'll incorporate this into the movie, since Bipasha is the lead. Bebo had a song named after her, but that was an item number, if I remember correctly.

I really like the song. It's very catchy Smiley
I think Bipasha looks gorgeous and graceful in the song, but like you said Bipasha's dancing is a bit stiff. I know she can do much better. I mean look at 'Lucky Boy' or 'Beedi' and many more of her songs. It's like she didn't put much effort in the dancing... unfortunately.

As far as the song choreography goes, I thought her being out of sync with the music was intentional, some kind of "too cool for the rhythm" like you see in the West sometimes.  Come to think of it, I've not seen any movies that required fancy dancing from Bipasha-just Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (?) where she's part of a love polygon where no one else can dance either (Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor), and that cameo in the Sharukh-Anushka vehicle.

I was hoping this would come to our theater and it didn't. I do not know Madhaven as an actor except one awful film, but he was cute in it and I agree, do not lose weight. I am tired of actors and actresses losing weight and ruining their looks.

Pretty much confirms my hunch on seeing the trailer, that this was going to be one of these movies that trojan-horses a lot of modern-ish and slightly controversial content into the first half and then gets all traditional in the second half.

http://baradwajrangan.wordpress.com/2012/03/02/lights-camera-conversation-a-matter-of-considerable-weight/

What does it say about our tolerance for normalcy when we cannot help smirking at a perfectly ordinary-looking bloke on screen?

..... If anything, this debate about his weight makes you wonder if we, in this multiplex age, have lost the ability to recognise what’s normal and what isn’t, and if the only thing we expect our stars to be is perfect in the moulded-plastic sense.....

I'm not gonna lie... I saw this movie in theatres just to see that "Bipasha" number on the big screen.  It didn't disappoint.  Yowza.  I should've left after that because post-interval the movie's a bit of an ordeal.  It really is a bait and switch with that title and the promise of some edge and then it gets really typical and un-edgy and dull, not to mention another couple pretty much becomes the focus, not Bips and Maddy.

Question though: what exactly does "Single Rehne Ka Bejod Formula" mean?  It's actually part of the film's onscreen title, not just a tag line for the poster and trailers.

We just saw it tonight. Nothing earth shattering etc, but it was fun. We did enjoy it. And I thought he looked just fine.

Bipasha was a lovely item number.

This sadly became my take on the movie as well.   Disappointing, maybe due to my high expectations. My rented copy kept messing up, so it is possible that I missed some brilliance, but I doubt it.   The beginning seemed so promising, new, and different and then dissolved into a complete mess.   I was really digging the jodi between Bips and Maddy, (a bit unlikely to be sure) but very fun.   I find Milind Soman so unpalatable that I cringed through the last half.    I'm sure that I'm in the minority when I say I much prefer Maddy to Milind; so I didn't care in the least about "Maggie and Mark".

T-Series has it up on youtube with subtitles, and very nice quality, if anyone cares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QDm0fe6h6Y&feature=watch-now-button&wide=1

I don't have time right now, but I think I might give it a try later.

So, watched this on and off between doing housecleaning, and fastforwarded a couple of bits.  Something must be wrong with me, because a). I liked it, both (most of) the humor and (most of) the serious parts, and b). it took me forever to figure out that
Spoiler (hover to show)

I found Milind Soman and Dipannita Sharma pretty likable as Mark and Maggie, and she had AWESOME hair, I particularly liked the hairstyle that went with the green dress in the second half.  But I don't think the film focused on them unduly.  Madhavan also did a good job with a potentially pretty unlikable character, but I felt like the film really belonged to Bipasha.  She was awesome.  Why can't she get bigger movies than this?

Weird synchronicity: first I set up a Bipasha avatar just cuz I felt like a change, then I watch one of her movies and decide I like her, after not being very impressed w/ her in Humko Deewana Gaye, or whatever it was I saw her in.
