Aww. If the announcement to the world has to be via Twitter, that's a sweet way to do it.
(Doesn't Shweta have kids, though? So technically he already is a grandfather...  Wink )

I hope Aish stays in the business after the baby is born...  I would be sad to see her go, though of course she'll probably do whatever is right for her.

^I guess she'll finish her  film Heroine and that will be it for now.  She had another film lined up with RajKumar Santoshi but that doesn't seem it will be happening now.   Its funny because Ash at 37 and married is still getting top offers but now its family time for her.

Fantastic Cheesy Congrats to her, that's terrific!!:-)
I hope she'll come back after having children, the way Kajol did with Fanaa and MNIK. Or even the way Madhuri did with Aaaja Nachle.
[And on a random side-note, good grief at all the women on the desi fashion sites who were making disparaging comments on her larger figure and looser clothes the past several months. Rather absurd, considering she has been in the process of starting a family Tongue]

Indian Actress Aishwarya Rai Is Pregnant!

Indian actress Aishwarya Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan are expecting a baby!

Bachchan's father Amitabh broke the news via Twitter, telling his followers: "I am going to become a grandfather! Aishwarya is expecting! So happy and thrilled!"

This will be the first child for Rai, 37, and actor Bachchan, 35. The couple wed on April 20, 2007 in a private ceremony at the Bachchan residence, Prateeksha, in Juhu, Mumbai.

Rai was crowned Miss World in 1994 and has often been referred to as "the most beautiful woman in the world." She has starred in more than 40 movies, including 2004's Bride and Prejudice and 2009's Pink Panther.

Those were my thoughts exactly.  Cheesy How wonderful would it be if she had a little daughter/son who was just as breathtakingly beautiful as her? And I'm sure Abhi is going to be an adorable father.
Its funny how excited this pregnancy has got me. I love Amitabh's tweet, its lovely to see a close-knit family celebrating a pregnancy like this (as opposed to HW, where the last pregnancy I heard about was just an ugly controversy over whether the unnamed father of January Jones's child was actually married.)

He is already a grandfather.  English doesn't make the distinction, but Hindi does. He is a Nana (maternal grandfather) already, thanks to Shweta's two kids.  Now he will become a Dada (paternal grandfather).  Since they are traditional in living arrangements, among other things, this baby will live in the same house with Amitabh and Jaya.
