I always enjoyed reading the writers who posted at PFC. It was a rare place where people talked passionately and intelligently about Indian cinema.http://passionforcinema.com/pfc-countdown-to-the-end/PFC – Countdown to… The End

That's all folks It has been a long 5 years since the beginning of May 2006 when we began designing and discussing the possibilities of what we could do with PFC. What colors to add, how many columns to put in the design, what features and so on. It started in the backyard of the house I lived in then that eventually came to be known as HQ, where ideas would shoot in from left right and center, responsibilities assigned, new applications thought of and ideas implemented from paper to reality.
Now 5 years later, after 6285 posts and over 140 thousand comments… I would like to end this journey, because like any open volunteer platform – the time has come… our job is done… we wanted to express our opinions, love, shootouts about cinema… create an awareness of the many different movies that we loved… we have run the road… it is time to say our good-byes and make our exit….
Many of us volunteers are now at various points of lives, focusing on our individual careers, projects and family. At my end Dingora is a full time job, some exciting ventures in IT around the corner, and a loving family to focus on that has been extremely patient with me and supportive of all these crazy endeavors.
April 30 will be the last day our website will be live
Please feel free to say anything you would like to, final thoughts, parting good byes, asking people to continue to your own blogs, facebook or twitter accounts…
I want to thank each of you, for all you have done for PFC. Some of you have been with me from day one, some have jumped in whenever you got the chance to do all you could, some came in very recently but have the same passion as of every volunteer who carried PFC to higher levels.
Thank you all. It has been a great journey, many highs, and of course some lows too. It has been emotionally draining for some of us, those who stood by me and supported me through the thick and thin. I thank you for trying your best to support me and the volunteers so we could keep moving forward.
For those in the film industry, thank you for making PFC your home, your platform and supporting PFC writers, bloggers and volunteers, making room in your busy lives for us – for sharing your home space, meals, projects… the wonderful “daaru” evenings to discuss what you and us had in common… passion for cinema.
My apologies to all those who may have complaints or were upset. Trust me, it was never our intention to do that. The initial group that kickstarted this storm just wanted to have fun and be about cinema… it was never about groupism, pro-this or anti-that…
I take with me some great lovely moments that I shall treasure forever… I wish now I could have captured some of them on camera… like the evening over Old Monk and Beer at a run down bar in Goregaon with Sriram and Shridhar Raghavan, trying my best to stand straight with Saurabh Shukla and our dear friend the late Pankaj Advani after a couple of drinks and a lost pack of cigarettes, an intense story session with Nishikant Kamat at Heathrow airport, dinner at Hansal Mehta’s backyard in Lonavala listening to the various stories he’d experienced as a snake crawls a few feet away from us, the weekly get togethers at HQ that would bring PFC volunteers together like a magnet, the Friday Kingfisher test – beer followed by a movie… and so many more….
Please keep in touch. PFC’s accounts at Facebook – myPFC and Twitter – @myPFC will be active after the site is shut down. We will continue to manage both accounts so you can put your favorite links, your latest blogs posts, publicize your movies and your projects there…
I hope to see you again. Though this journey ends here, many more begin…
Known as “oz” to most of you, here’s my final salute from the PFC platform…
