So I have used photobucket for posting photos on Bollywhat. I hadn't uploaded any photos in a while and suddenly I get the exceeds bandwith icon on all my pictures here. I have gone in and deleted several photos but still it shows the exceeds bandwith icon. Is there a lag where it will take a few days for the exceeds bandwith sign to disapear? I deleted about 40 photos, considering it worked for a very long time without the sign showing I assume I don't need to delete that many.

What other image hosting sites do people use? Has anyone actiually "upgraded" to Photobucket pro? Is it worth doing that? I don't want all my pictures I have posted to suddenly disapear on the threads here! Unless there is a better site I will probably just create another account on photobucket but i want the one I have to show my photos again.  Any advise would be appreciated...

Same thing happened to me.  I didn't really know what to do, either. Tried deleting a lot of pictures that I know I never posted here, but it still didn't help.  Now photobucket gets $2.99 a month from me. Grrr....Apparently there's a difference between bandwidth and storage space.  Since I'm paying for the service I really should start storing all my photos there, not just the ones I post here.

Jill, there is a tab called Account Status if you have a look under Account Settings.  The bandwidth is based on how many times the photos have been viewed.  So deleting photos won't affect it unfortunately.  It's just a way for them to get more money.  It's hard to find a good hosting site.  I always struggle to find good sites to put up my photos.  That's why I tend to use FB but it has its own problem there.

The bandwidth will reset after each month at Photobucket though.  I think it's the day you joined is the end of each month.  Hope this helps.

Thanks Vivster, I saw that info when I was messing around on the photobucket site AFTER I deleted a bunch of photos.  Angry Fortunetly the date I joined photobucket was March 6th 2009, so I should get my bandwith reset tomorrow or the end of the month..I think...

Yeah, bandwidth has to do with how many times your photos are viewed, not how many photos you have stored. Under Account Status, where you can see how much bandwidth you've used, you can also view your Stats, which shows your most-viewed photos and on which websites they were viewed. Photos I post on BollyWhat routinely end up on other websites as well.

That being said, the only time I exceeded my monthly bandwidth on PhotoBucket was the first time I used an animated avatar on this forum. So I created a second PhotoBucket account, which I use exclusively for avatars, and I haven't had a bandwidth problem since then.

Whoa my photos must be popular this month! Already exceeded bandwith again! (must be because I let a Mahesh Babu extreme fangirl know about the stargazing thread Undecided) So If I am understanding how this works all my photos I posted will be down until the 7th of April??

I am having trouble with editing photos in my Photobucket account
At first I am able to edit them (crop the sides, add borders etc) but then when I try to save the edited images, I keep getting an error alert
Is anyone else having this problem

Just thought I'll post again, I'm still encountering this situation where I can't save edited pics in my Photobucket, always an error alert shows up when I am at the last step and trying to press "save"
My laptop is ancient and I can't remember half the passwords for it, which could be part of the problem
But in case it's something with the actual site...is anyone else having this issue?
I've got several fashion polls in waiting which I can't post because I can't crop/re-size the required pics (you see how serious an issue this is hehehe)
