I realize this may be a bit complicated, but I don't know where else to go. My friends and I are working on a 'tribute' to Bollywood, and are preparing some 'songs' I've written (more like poems) translated into hindi. Our only hindi speaker says the one below is too complicated for him, as he only lived in India until he was 12. So, I have come to you. So here goes... If this isn't the right place to ask this, and if I shouldn't ask it on the forum at all, just let me know...

Stanza 1 - I had a dream and never woke.
You are the fruit of this vision,
A thornless flower amidst brambles.
You reach for your sun, and I dare to hope it is me.

Stanza 2 - You are not the sun nor the thorns,
Nor the earth, nor the flower.
You are the water I drink and live by.
In the shaded patch of night, I could spend a lifetime,
But without your cool depths, I would crumble to dust.

Stanza 3 - Oh love, phantom, whatever you may be,
You do the water an honor.
An oasis may survive without the flower,
Therefore I am the bee supping upon your youth.

Stanza 4 - If you are the bee, I am the pollen.
Your flights give me a purpose, wings to rise by.
I shall ever long for these short moment together,
Before I am swept away to the prison of another bloom.

Stanza 5 - Be silent on such notes! You are not flower,
Nor pollen. I am not water, nor bee.
Together we are the brambles, the thorns,
The roots. Never should we part.

(Together)
I had a dream, and hope I never wake.
You had a dream, and I hope you never wake.

Gonzo: Really? I have a dream, too!
Fozzie: Oh?
Gonzo: But you'll think it's stupid.
Fozzie: No we won't, tell us, tell us!
Gonzo: Well, I want to go to Bombay, India and become a movie star.
Fozzie: You don't go to Bombay to become a movie star! You go where we're going: Hollywood.
Gonzo: Sure, if you want to do it the *easy* way.

Some questions:

Do you just want this translated?
Or do you want this translated into poetic words?
When this is translated into poetic words, do you want this to rhyme?
If so, do you have a particular rhyming device you want used, i.e abba, or aabb, or ababc, etc.?

If it's possible to translate it poetically, and especially rhyming, I would definitely prefer ababc.

I was afraid of that.

I might be able to translate them into Hindi.  I am just no good at poetry or rhyming.  I suggest you PM palacerani and ask her for help.  She might be able to help you or might be able to recommend someone who could help you.

In my attempts to learn some Hindi, it occured to me that Hindi-to-English translations
only showed half of the picture, and sometimes left me a bit confused.
Is this the place for an English-to-Hindi translation? If not, then where?

We love love songs. Could someone translate this to Hindi, please?

"Love, walked right in and drove the shadows away.
Love, walked right in and brought my sunniest day!
One, magic moment, and my heart seemed to know,
That love said 'hello,'
Though not a word was spoken."

"One look, and I forgot the gloom of the past!
One, look and I had found my future at last.
One, look and I had found a world completely new
When Lo-ve walked in with you!"

Thank you very much.
