Whether you're with someone or single, do you have plans for February 14th?

ETA: I Google-Image searched "Bollywood Valentine" and this image came up:

Not very much comes up for "Tollywood Valentine."

I love the green Valentine's logo!

Since Valentine's Day is a Sunday, I won't be doing much.  Saturday night my single friends and I go to an Irish bar that has a Lisdoonvarna, Irish Matchmaking festival.  I've gone a few times - it's a fun time, live music, the beer is cheap, and it beats sitting at home on V-Day weekend.  Oh, and it's my birthday, too.

Worst. Valentine's. Day. Ever.  Turned 24.  (Don't ask the year!)  Just got dumped by my BF.  A flasher showed me his family jewels in the parking lot of the mall.  Then spent the evening with all my lonely gay friends complaining about how none of us had a man.  At a horrible, pretentious performance art installation in West Hollywood. Pathetic.

We might go out to dinner. Since everyday is a Valentines day around here it is just another day in some ways. All I have to do is hint at something and it is bought or done. It can get a bit much sometimes when I say something and he goes and buys it, especially when we cannot afford it. So I am careful what I say I would like or admire.

He went to the English store to get some special peas for the shepherds pie I thought looked good on a cooking show and he got me an awesome puzzle from Ireland I am putting together right now. I am so very spoiled.

That sound you hear is all the BollyWhat lonelyhearts fluttering at once, thinking..."where can I get someone like that?"  Cheesy

I found him at a Mensa convention in a hot tub while drunk and passed out in his lap. Did his chart and kept him. ( I did not know at the time about hot tubs, altitude and alcohol.)

Lucky you Corbie!

Ms. Chandni, we share the same B-day! Yaay for Valentine babies (not all the time though lol)
I won't be doing much either. One of my friends is getting married on the 13th, so past 12" I'll celebrate my birthday with all of them. Otherwise, I guess it's going to be a quiet sunday night in with my roomate.

I'll be attending a child's birthday party, so we can look forward to screaming, crying, games, and cake.

deena, that is GREAT!! hahaha.
well, i will be going friday night, the 12th, to see MNIK, of course!!! i hope that there is an 8 pm-ish show so that maybe vinita, martha, SRKFanatic and any other bollywhaters that are coming to see it can maybe get something to eat before hand? anyway, i have some converts attending as well, so it really is FAR from a date for the hubby and i, but we will probably be sneaking out for some ethiopian food on sunday. i find that the insane crowds in restaurants on v-day aren't as bad in my favorite ethnic places.

I'm sorry Emel3.

Valentine's day for me just means candy - it's cheaper on the 15th, candy in school, candy-grams, candy from my dad (WTF I've never understood why a father wants to give his daughters valentine's candy, cards, and a present - all after the divorce, of course.) candy candy candy.

I'm sure this will change if and when I start dating or caring about dating.

Corbie - a local flower place has been running an ad for a few months now - "It's not her birthday, it's not Valentine's Day, it's just another day. The perfect day to send her flowers." Aww.

Of course, men haven't been raised to be polite when accepting an expensive present that will be dead in a few days and women have, that's why we ladies always get flowers. Never get me flowers! I appreciate the thought, but for the cost (especially the ones from my great-aunt across the country) I could get something that will last a long time and/or be something I can use! Bah, flowers. Just bee hiding places.

So jealous you bollywhatters all get to spend time with one another, leaving me out and such. Angry Speaking of which, though, for Valentine's Day bollyking and I will be spending the evening with dinner and watching DDLJ and maybe Band Baaja Baaraat together.

Oh I know, I know mushy stuff. Apologies in advance if you vomited. Wink

Karan: Have you ever analyzed why things have a strange kind of a vibe [around Kareena]?
Priyanka: I don’t know, I think I’m very important in her life somehow.
Karan: *shakes head* Be specific please.
Priyanka: Um, she just always has a lot to say about me. So I’m presuming I’m important in her life.
~
Q: So Priyanka you open up the newspaper and see Kareena saying, 'Heroine will be better than Fashion so who cares about a national award.'
Priyanka: Well, I guess if you don't have one... then, sour grapes, what do I say!

Sorry.  Sad

I had a good day. No flowers or anything as husband spent the entire day putting audio books on my little Sansa player. Better than flowers. Did something so nice for me. I love the library!
