If this has already been talked about, I apologize for the repeat.......

Anuradha Sengupta's  interview series - Beautiful People - is on youtube. I've always liked her style since she doesn't chase gossip and seems thoughtful in her approach. Here are links to some recent interviews. The rest of the parts are on youtube. There's also lots more in the series (outside of BW too!)

So, I just watched an episode of this show thanks to a recommendation on another thread, and the interviewer is fantastic.  Grin

I saw the Ranbir Kapoor episode, and I can scarcely believe this is the same boorish brat who was on KWK. This interview makes me like him a lot more, even if it's just him being repentant for the KWK debacle and doing damage control. It's his most recent interview for Rockstar, and I suggest you watch it. He comes off as being far more intelligent and aware than the BW average.

Any other particular episodes of this show that you guys recommend?

Yes the Salman one is a must watch. Very good. Made me actually like Salman.

I like Hrithik's but his was probably the worse. He wore sunglasses through out and I don't think he came off very well.

There is some discussion of "Beautiful People" in this thread.

Yes, Hrithik's interview was awful. I didn't make it past the first part. He sounded angry and slightly hungover. There were points where you could pick up on his stutter, which always endears him to me but here he just needed a good smacking.

Watching the Ajay Devgan-Rohit Shetty episode and it's a very interesting discussion of masala and the film biz.

Thanks leaf, I enjoyed watching that.   I definitely want to read the books now.  That led to me watching the interview of Ranbir Kapoor:

He said the "method acting" he learned from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute sucked. Cheesy

I just watched this one with Katrina Kaif:

At the risk of gushing, I just went from "like" to "love".  She is so smart, well-spoken, and thoughtful... she seems like a really lovely and sensitive human being.  I never would have guessed!  Not that I ever perceived her as stupid and shallow, but I've never seen an interview where she opened up this much about who she is.  Anuradha Sengupta tends to be very critical of the mainstream actresses (for which I love her), and even she was won over!  Cheesy  I hope Katrina keeps raising her standard of the kinds of roles she does so I can actually watch more of her movies.

Same here!

I just watched Kat's interview with her, & I was pleasantly surprised! I went from feeling neutral to Kat (as a person) to really liking her--she seems like someone I'd like to know & see myself connecting with. Smiley  I've watched a few of Kat's other interviews & she seemed sweet, but here I really began to like her as a person (I don't think she's that great of an actor, but then again I haven't seen Namaste London, Ranjineeti, or New York yet). And yes, she's quite articulate & mature. Smiley

Some episodes I watched recently, in case peeps are interested:

Irrfan Khan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZzdNJuH4Vk
Aamir Khan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmIkt7g3sA4
Karan Johar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQwHd7rS4AE

As usual Anuradha is such a deft and smart interviewer, that it's a pleasure to watch these beautiful people.

I haven't seen his new show yet but Aamir really impressed me with his vision. I've been blown way by some of his choices as a producer, so may be his midas touch works on TV as well?  Smiley

Thanks for posting this Leaf!:)
That was quite interesting
I really like the part where he relayed the approach his wife told him to take with writing the book
And his optimism [esp about creative people of Indian descent working today] was lovely as well

Such interesting interviews she conducts (though it doesn't hurt that the interviewees were interesting as well, lol)! Thanks for posting these links. I enjoyed watching them. Smiley

I haven't seen Aamir's show yet either, but I hope he's able to accomplish what he has set out to do; it is a valiant effort.

As much as I love Anuradha's style of not kissing a celebrity's ass while interviewing him/her, she can be rather judgmental and cynical at times. The whole Aamir interview was an examination of his motives in doing SMJ. I never see her questioning a Salman for doing Big Boss which is pretty much an entire show about people debasing, abusing and manipulating each other to win a lottery. Why did she never question him on why he is hosting and frankly endorsing such a show? I was rather annoyed by her attempt to play psychiatrist to Aamir! Yeah, he doesn't do endorsement while doing the show. How dare he!!  Roll Eyes

I am making it a point to say this because I have noticed her do this consistently over the years. When it comes to Aamir, everything is suspect.  Roll Eyes

Could it be that she thinks there may be an interesting reason or rationale behind Aamir's choices that her audience would appreciate whereas with Salman Khan she's assuming that it's primarily about being a star or making money? (I say that as a fan of both Wink Smiley) I didn't feel her questioning was judgmental so much as her attempting to show how Aamir's actions don't fit the usual expectations one has of a BW hero, though I could be wrong. Smiley I guess it is somewhat cynical to question from the assumption that money or fame would always be the main motivators, but they generally are in the film industry, right?
