 Huh  Angry

Drives me insane, that 1/4 " strip above the Reply window. Is there a way I can widen it to a decent size?

I have the same problem. I think it's a forum software bug. It started happening only about a month or so ago…

ETA: I've seen this with Firefox and Safari on my Mac, and Firefox and IE on the Windows system at work.

Sorry.  IIRC, the problem was first reported with IE, so I thought it was just an Internet Distorter problem.  Firefox works for me on Linux and Mac, so I bet it will work for you on Windows.

If you turn off javascript right before you hit "preview" you'll get a window the size of your post.

For Safari on a Mac, the easiest way to flip it on and off is to turn on the "develop" menu item. Go to safari preferences > advanced and check the last checkbox that says "show develop menu in menu bar."

(Technical explanation for anybody interested. When I last tried to figure out what was going on I believe I found that there's a piece of javascript that is writing some inline CSS telling the preview window to be 20px or so high. I think the javascript might be called depending on the browser being used. It was several months ago that I poked around though.)

Tks, but I can't figure out how to do that on Chrome.  I tried checking for solutions on the Net and came up with one suggestion that I go into Chrome's Properties (by right-clicking on the desktop icon) and typing in a disable command there. But the guys at Google seem to have got wind of that and blocked any such adventures.  Roll Eyes

So now my options are : Use IE and get stuck with a jumping cursor but regular preview window or use Chrome and get exactly the opposite result !  Grin Maybe Firefox  has the answer to my woes ? Is there anyone here who has all of 'em downloaded - IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari ?

I have used Firefox for a very long time and have no problems with the forum's software.  I also have IE which I occasionally use for some websites that display Hindi fonts better in IE.  There is an add-on to Firefox that permits you to view websites in IE in its browser that I've been using lately, though.

I switched to Google Chrome a few days ago, but the tiny preview window just started happening to me tonight, too.

This has been happening to me ever since I switched to Chrome many months ago.  I decided to just live with it, because I'm too lazy to try to figure something out.  I'm really satisfied with Chrome otherwise, and don't want to switch to Firefox (though I have it downloaded) because it takes too long to open for me for some reason.

So, has anyone figured out any solution other than switching browsers?

I go through Safari on a Mac and this seems to be working for me right now. I go under "Develop" and select "Disable Javascript" after which I can see the preview box for posting, which hadn't been visible at all before. Thanks Tanya Smiley

Firefox works,  the tiny window is gone, but I've gotten so used to Chrome, I hate to give it up. At least I know it's another option.
