Is that Kanthasamy movie out on DVD yet? I'm tired of waiting.
Ayngaran's online store has it available as of November 4th.

Oh yah, and I think we really need a link here to the little Vikram-fest that broke out over on the uninitiated thread, haha:
http://www.bollywhat-forum.com/index.php?topic=6207.msg398462#msg398462
What a great and funny little conversation! I totally agree that 1) part of what makes Vikram so sexy is his masculinity and 2) that it isn't adequately captured by still photographs.
I was so excited to see Kandasamy this summer and I described Vikram to my friend at work as "the hottest man in India". She immediately did a Google Image search... and then looked at me like I was TOTALLY INSANE
But for a lot of Indian actors you can't just look at a picture of them, you have to see them "in action". I mean, if I had just shown her a picture of SRK she would've been like, "that dude with the big nose?" but instead I showed her KHNH and now she's a total fangirl. I must get my hands on a copy of Dhool. She says she doesn't like guys with moustaches, but I know by the end of the first song she will be a moustache convert.

Hmm I have shopping to do at the end of this week. Thanks, johndeevans!
Simran, Dhool should make a convert out of her, yes. Though with some people, you just have to conclude their tastes are weird. But I agree there's a very few photos out there that convince even people who've not seen him in movies that he really is the hottest man in India. This thread has quite a great selection, though.
These two pics
are absolute among the best.

I found this fun portrait of South Indian superstars on flickr (

).
Not sure that it looks quite like Vikram, but I do love that he's holding a bloody sledgehammer.

I think the artist did a better job of portraying Mahesh, Prabhas and Mammotty, at least they are recognizable. The picture of Vikram doesn't really look much like him. (except for holding the sledgehammer of course!)

I might be wrong since you can't see the whole outfit, but to me that kind of looks more like a bullfighter's outfit
than a traje de charro
I do realize the point of the post was to point out Vikram's hotness, btw, but now I'm all kinds of intrigued. Looks like I will have to buy the movie to find out why he's wearing either of those!

Nope, you're right, it is a bullfighter suit. I should have clued in by the bullring in the back.
There's actually a big chunk of Kanthaswamy where they are in Mexico (and a song picturization that has ballet folklorico dancers, if I recall, which is probably why I thought it the other one.)
Also, probably confused it with this picture of Hrithik in Kites, which does look like traje de charro:

Yes is it a bullfighter's outfit. Here is a fuller picture:
Gotta stare at these to get that image of Hrithik in a silly hat outta my head...

omg, I didn't even notice the background last time
But they're in Mexico for part of the movie!?!
Randomness! Man, I couldn't love SI movies any more!!
(and yes, Hrithik can't really carry the charro outfit
)

I should have posted this link earlier:
Here is the song called Mambo Mamiya, in Kanthaswamy where he wears the Bull Fighter outfight.
**warning it is a pretty silly song but Vikram looks great***

Thank you for making my lunch hour, S Hushpuppy!
One a side note, I love this song for all of the shots of people just hanging out, talking. Also, after seeing oh so many weird versions of white people in BW films, it was delightful to see a pretty lovely, respectful, realistic portrayal of northern Mexico.

sorry for the bad screencap, and he is dancing with guys in charro outfits, so I wasn't totally making that up.
