There is a Dallas Desi-related meetup group (meet up.com) but it leaves me out, I'm over 40 :-(
I would love to find a group that goes to movies, etc.
Two friends I work with and I are going to see either Bodyguard or Mere Brother Ki Dulhan this Friday after work, at FunAsia
Me too!

Anyway, how hard would it be to start a meet up group for the 40+ gang?

I'm in two moods tonight.

Elation that they are showing Dookudu in Tulsa on September 25 and that the Telugu girl at the local Indian store volunteered to tell me what was going on in the movie.

Frustration that I found out at 6 p.m that they were showing Bodyguard in a South OKC theater starting at 5 p.m TODAY!

Since I really only was interested in Dookudu, I'm going to skip the trip to Dalllas in favour of the trip to Tulsa.

Sorry guys.  I might come down in October if they don't show Ra.One here.  Hoping to see you then.

hello all dallas and driving distance from dallas BW'ers! i have been a terrible lurker lately but just wanted to put it out there that i would love to organize a meet up here at my house, which is all of 5 minutes from funasia in richardson, for the opening night of ra.one...i know it is diwali, i am not sure if any of you are hindu or celebrating with family, but i was thinking an early dinner here, buffet-style, then off to the film! i have some non-BW friends looped in for opening night festivities...anybody feel like making it a BW meet up as well? prem rogue, you are totally obligated to show up. just so you know. totally family friendly, since i am taking my almost 7 year old son to his first bolllywood movie in a theater that night! he is a superhero nut and pretty good at reading subs, so i think he will enjoy it. zombeaner (my husband) will be here too of course! so...what say?  Grin

Sounds fun. I'll try to get my son to come, too.
I "forced"him to watch 3 Idiots and he had to admit he liked it.
I'm planning on getting him to watch Zindagi, too.

Hello, I am a lurker and die-hard Bollywood fan for the past year.  Usually I go to Funasia alone but it would be so much better to meet up.  I am interested in the meet up for Ra One. I live in the Fort Worth area.  Usually I go to Hollywood Theater for Hindi films but yesterday I made the trip to Richardson for Mausam, so I know how long it takes to get there.

Is there a tenative day set yet for the proposed meetup? Debby and I might be able to come up for this if the timing is right.

ok, all! it is really getting close! squeeee!!! i will be going on wednesday night because, well, because i am a rabid SRK fanatic. but saturday, i will be happy to host a get together here say, starting at three or four? and aiming for a 7:30 showing or thereabouts, there are no showtimes yet but generally there is one around that time? all are welcome! i was thinking of having a chaat buffet and maybe some veg and non veg curry or the like...and chai...and also, there is a chaat stand at the theater, for intermission, if that would be more convenient? my bestie's son's birthday is that day, so we are hosting him as well, since the sweetie (turning 9) has decided that seeing Ra.One is how he wants to spend his birthday! so it will be an open house here from three or four until we head over to the theater...more solid times can be worked out as we get closer to the day and ALL ARE WELCOME! we live about 5 minutes drive from funasia richardson. we can also arrange to just meet there for the film if that works for anybody! i am just so excited!

FunAsia has 2D and 3D showings for Saturday the 29th at 7:15. I think we should see the 2D version, since the 3D version is a post-production conversion. Plus the 2D showings are cheaper.

They seem to have reduced the prices from $18 for 3D to $15 and from $12 for 2D to $10. I still don't wanna see it in 3D.

First, your PM box is full.
Second, count us in for three, myself and the two boys.

Count me in as one, unless something last minute comes up. Will need terminal guidance for the area, also, if any suggestions for nearest hotel would be appreciated, haven't been in that neck of the woods for ages. Thanks!
