The box on the top right of the forum site says: "Interested in joining the BollyWHAT? forum?  The next 24-hour registration will open on January 16.  See you then!"

But one of my friends tried to subscribe today and found out that it's still not working. Does anyone know what's going on?

Sorry to ask this, I don't know if it has already been explained somewhere else...
I never realized that registrations were open only on specified dates. When I registered I don't think this existed. I'm curious about when and why this was initiated?

hello mods...i have a friend who has been waiting a while to register and was hoping to do so today, but it doesn't seem like it ever "opened"?? anything i can tell her?? thanks!

I didn't notice when it went up, but I think quite recently.  It gives me hope that the problem of patchy access is being resolved, though!

It seems like a long time to me now since we've had new members and since the registration window has been open - I'm hoping this can change soon - I am meeting people from time to time who I think would like to participate.

Registration opens this Friday and will be open for the weekend. I generally just choose four weeks after the point the registration is open as the next window for new members to register.
Edited to add: I forgot that tomorrow is Canada Day, so I've opened up registration one day early as I probably won't be around to do it tomorrow.
