I like most of them too though I can't watch Sholay because of one thing about it that I find too grisly.

Hm...so many great movies. Itīs hard to pick 5 of them. My recommendations would be:

Sholay (THE classic; it actually took me two attempts to get into the movie but now I canīt get enough of it)
Seeta aur Geeta (an absolute delight and Hema Malini is amazing in that movie, this movie made me fall in love with the Hema-Dharmendra jodi Kiss)
Swades (my favourite Shah Rukh movie, wonderfully made and great songs)
Omkara
Bombay

Five is too many/too far ahead to think of...
I'm currently trying to decide between Zindagi Na Milegi Dobarra (on DVD, borrowed copy) or Ek Main Aur Ek Tu (movie theater close by still has a few showtimes.)
I'll post back with my (very exciting Tongue) decision haha:p
