Imran Khan is set to rock the box office for the second time this year with his next movie Kidnap . Only this time, he’s not the good boy Jai Singh Rathod that you got to see in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na . Imran takes on a completely different avatar. It’s a menacing role and if reports are to be believed he looks amazing.

The promos of Kidnap will be shown in theatres during the filming of Sing is Kinng this friday. In the movie, Imran Khan kidnaps Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Minissha Lamba . The trailer starts with Imran challenging Sanjay Dutt - "everything you do - eating, sleeping, walking, talking - will be decided by me." Sanjay Dutt retaliates asking Imran to go to hell. Sanjay then starts his mission to save his daughter.

The promos of Ashtvinayak's Kidnap are going to be released with Singh is Kinng this week. Kidnap ,directed by Sanjay Gandavi (of Dhoom 2 fame) , pitts the new comer Imran Khan against Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt.

Imran, fresh from his Jaane Tu success, plays a character with shades of grey, who kidnaps Sanjay Dutt's daughter played by Minissha Lamba.

If the reviews of the promo are anything to go by, Imran Khan takes on Sanjay Dutt with panache. He is fearless and menacing in the portrayal of a kidnapper right in his second film, that too after essaying a romantic chocolate- faced character in his debut film.

Kidnap's promo speaks volumes of Imran's risk taking appetite. His dashing yet mean side which remained largely hidden in Jaane Tuand was only hinted at during one or two moments in the film when he dreamt of charging at his girlfriend's nasty lover, comes to the fore in Kidnap. And boy! does Imraan look good in it! He is sporting a tattoo as well!

The promo shows Imran challenging Sanjay after he kidnaps Sanjay's daughter. He calls up Sanjay's character as says, 'Everything you do - eating, sleeping, walking, talking - will be decided by me.' To which Sanjay retorts, 'Go to hell.' From there the promo takes you on an action-packed thrill ride with Sanjay searching for his daughter relentlessly and Imran telling him, 'Hell is already here.'

Sanajy Dutt does a classy act, but the real find is Imran Khan who very soon is going to be giving other debutants in the industry a run for their money!

I suppose it's already determined that Imran Khan will bag all the best male newcomer awards next year. I haven't seen his first movie, so can't comment on how good he is. But gathered from the trailers of kidnap, he seems to be a decent actor. However, I just can't take the water throwing seriously anymore, not after Dard-e-Disco.

Looks appealing...I like Minissha Lamba and Vidya Malvade, Imran Khan isn't so bad either. Just hope Sanjay isn't repeating another role, he's on thin ice with me.

Songs and picturisations are nice enough but I wish they would show/concentrate more promos on the suspence/thriller elements in the film.

I'm so eager to see this movie it's embarrassing.   And what is it with the Khan men eh? I was drooling over Aamir in his thread and now it seems I might have to make some room in my rather salacious mind for little nephew Imran. Phew!

And is that sizzling chemistry I see between Imran and Minissha?

I know right?. This film looks good. Imran is really impressing me day by day. Although I wonder what's happening in the 'Mausam' song. I'm assuming it's post the Kidnap?, dream sequence?, seduction sequence so that she can get away?, or just an attraction brewing between the kidnapper and victim?

But then again he might just strangle her after the song, who knows?, anticlimax.

This decision must have come after he begins to develop some attraction for her. So his imagination runs wild and he imagines her near him in some scenes.

This is just like in Ashoka where SRK watches Kareena bathing in the river, and he too imagines her close then back in the river, and then near him again.
That's the story I've gathered so far.

Aliya you might be right. But from what i've seen a lot seems to be coming from her side. In most probability it looks like she's trying to seduce him to get away and he either kinda falls for it or doesn't.  That's if it's following a conventional hindi film route. But otherwise it seems like a very story driven film so I have no idea what's really going on.

Wow I think i'll just watch the film to find out what happens after the song!, and what is actually happening during the song. Hopefully the promos aren't misleading. .

Oh and uh Imran Khan................................WWOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!. How can someone look so sweet, hot, sexy and intense at the same time?. Wowza.

I think it's odd how at the beginning she's on the beach and in the sea, and whenever she's near him, they're by a waterfall, in a foresty area. I wonder if that means something or if it's just good ol' Bollywood continuity.

Probably the promo is cut that way. Maybe the waterfall part is later in the song. Although good observation, I never noticed that. Too busy looking at Imran I guess  .

Or lets just put it this way.  Whoever sees the film on this thread first should post what's happening in the song in the spolier section. Although I saw the promo again carefully and it does seem a bit weird. At first it looked like a seduction number but now it seems like he might just be imagining some parts of it.

I think you're spot on. Clearly one of them is fantasising at some point in the song and I tend to agree it's Minissha pulling out all the stops to seduce him and effort to 'get away' and Imran falling for it, even if momentarily. Although from where I'm sitting I wouldn't mind being a victim of Stockholm Syndrome if my "kidnapper" looked like him, whatever is Minissha thinking? 

In all seriousness though, all the promos look great (although so far Mausam is my favourite, I like a little *steam* now and again )and I'm pleasantly surprised that I.K's taken the path far less travelled and is essaying what is at the very least a dark grey character. I think that bodes well for his career, maybe he will take after his illustrious uncle after all. Fingers crossed.

To me it seems like (exactly ike Aliya said) Minnisha is allowed to bathe, and she goes off happily.  Imran, who has developed an attraction to  her, is the one who is fantasizing.  But he knows that his thoughts are wrong, and that's why he keeps looking away guiltily even though he can't stop himself from fantasizing.
Lord it's a steamy promo!
