Awww, how cute, sounds like they really put a lot of effort into the wedding. I was also interested to read some of the guest list for the various wedding-related events.

Raaz from 2002 is a great, somewhat overlooked movie. Surprisingly good story, surprisingly scary, and surprisingly effective performances by the entire cast including the leads Bipasha and Dino.

Farah is half Parsi. Her aunts are the Irani sisters Honey and Daisy Irani. Her dad was Muslim. Farah's fiance is Manglorean.

Please! I don't see why she can't be dumpy over 40 and still find someone special. Why are people so obsessed over her being 10 yrs older than her husband anyway?

Yeah and more importantly would these people think the same thing if the genders are reversed?

Men marrying younger women is a throwback to an earlier age, when most men didn't marry until they were 'established' and earning money. It's hard to support a wife and growing family if you have no job
Tenant farmers would marry when they had a farm, or had a say in running their family's farm (tenant farmers didn't own the land, but had the inheritable right to farm that land); businessmen would marry when they were making more money than they were paying out in debt service/salaries; doctors and lawyers when their practices were established...And they chose young women because of the greater probability of the women being able to have children that survived (more fertile years ahead if the first kids didn't survive).
Older women who marry younger men, unfortunately, tend to be viewed as someone looking for a 'boytoy'-the hot young thing with nothing to contribute, and willing to be totally supported by the labor of the successful woman. Very sexist, imo, but that's what I learned in one of my social history classes.
I believe Farah was very successful at the time of the marriage, and have no idea about Sirish-I still haven't a clue if I've seen anything he's done. The fertility concerns came into play with the birth of the triplets-weren't they born with either the use of IUI/IVF/surrogacy or a combination of the three options?
All that said-Farah looks so happy in the photos!

I'm aware of all these (as I guess many reading here are but things just have to change in this day and age where women also are capable of earn money. The thing that disturbs me is not the history but today.

But the history, unfortunately, forms the mindset of many people in regards to societal mores. It's
still
more acceptable in much of the world for a significantly older man to marry a younger woman, whereas the opposite is looked on with disfavor. Just think about the distaste some people feel with Kareena being older than Imran in their new movie, and yet have no problem with SRK romancing the newest sweet young thing in a film. Things won't change as long as society in general still hangs on to anachronistic views of what makes an acceptable relationship.
Again, Farah and Sirish look happy, and if they are not still happy, they seem to be hiding it from the media-or the media just doesn't care.

Since everyone is busy discussing the marriage, I am going the superficial route. Sirish needs a haircut. Having a similar hairstyle as your wife is not a good idea.
I think Sirish was a film editor before he married Farah. So, he wasn't exactly unsuccessful. He edited Socha Na Tha. They met on the sets of Socha Na Tha and fell in love. Cute, na?

I
know
cissyboo, that is the thing I'm moaning about you see
I have seen Farah (when I worked as a 'junior artist' in Tees Maar Khan) and she is loud and shrill with a bad temper - I just hope that this is her directing style and not how she is when away from set. Otherwise God give patience to Sirish - on the other hand my sister is a constant nagger and her boyfriend seems very happy so who's to know what works and what doesn't when it comes to relationships?
