Mine aren't very good, but I make them using a program called GIF Constructor Set. I could email it to you if you wanted; all I do is go to the Animation Wizard and follow the steps.

You have to make all of your pics the same size beforehand, though.

Picture It! has a Flip Book feature where you can take frame by frame caps of a scene and blends them togheter to form an animation. That's what I did with my avatar. But you have to make each pic the same size before hand too if you want it to be this small.

If you want to make animated avatars from movies/clips, you have to have a dvd player on your computer too.  This reference back to the thread that JustMoi asked about making caps.  You do need a GIF animator to turn the many stills into an animation.

You know what would be cool is if one of you animation experts made little animated scenes from the movies for each one of the FAQ questions on the main bollywhat site.

Photoshops' bundled webimages program also makes animations quite easily.

I've tried making my first animated avatar and I hit a problem  Embarrassed

I use animation shop 3, and I set the frame speed to 5, and it shows fine when I view it in the program, however when it opens it up in a web browser it is much slower, is there anyway to fix this?

Would be greatful for anyone's help!  Cheesy

the speed difference is bigger between designed and projected animation, the bigger the size of the animation in kb.
an animation of 1 mb will be displayed at the same speed approximately, one 5mb big animation will be much slower.

I'm having the same trouble as Zaira was earlier in the thread - all my animations come out really slow.  Is anyone able to explain how I get them to be at normal speed?  Thanks. Smiley

P.S. I'm using Jasc Animation Shop

Edit: Nevermind. Smiley

I've been giving this 'animated' stuff a go.  I downloaded a trial copy of Animation Shop and am having the same problem as yourself.  Even when I put '1' in the Display Time box in the Frame Properties, the animations are coming out at the default speed of '10' when I watched them outside the program!  So I would be interested to know how you 'fixed' this problem...

Incidently, I have made the animations smaller and they are still going at the default speed.

Try 'culling' the animation by removing one out of two frames.

Or, incidentally, as I only just discovered whilst making the little Madhuri animation for my signature, it only appears slow when you play it on your computer, upload it onto imageshack and such and it plays at the speed it was playing at in animation shop i.e. the right one.  I think paok explained why this happens but it went over my head.  Ah, it still plays 'slow' on, in my case, Photobucket.  Will try culling the animation.

 Thanks.  Smiley

ETA The culling did the trick.  All I need to do now is well...improve.   Grin

Thanks again jhana  Cheesy

The avatar of SRK proudly displaying his skill with a cigarette is a little unsettling, for me. That's not something I would be proud of, personally.

Heh heh, only after a lot of trial and error...

Incidently, did you buy your copy pre-packaged or did you download it and then buy after a trial period?  I ask because I notice that Jasc have been 'swallowed' up by Corel and that, perhaps, the downloaded version I have may not be buyable...

I tried it out with the downloaded version first but you can't actually buy it separately if you are from the UK so I got Paint Shop Pro 8 off of Amazon marketplace for about a tenner - it includes Animation Shop 3.  The latest version of PSP X doesn't include the program anymore. Roll Eyes

I am seeing a lot of personal pics of forum members that are animated. My questions are where do you find these and how can I add one. I am not very computer savvy, so step by step would be nice. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

you either make them ( which I don't recommend Wink), or you take from sites that have them made for you,
the best site available is BC.net

they have a huge collection of animated avatars for stars and movies.

-pick the animation that you like.
-right-click on the animation, then choose copy image location.
-go to your profile in bllywhat?, and go to forum profile information.
-paste the link where you want the animation to appear. if you want it with your name( avatar), then paste it in the first section in the space by "I have my own pic".
if you want it in your signature, then go down and paste the link by Signature.
-click change profile...and Voila'!  Smiley

Thank you for replying, but alas I still am so computer unsaavy. I did find that site and liked a particular animation, when I right clicked I did not see an option to copy image location, only copy. Is there another option I could do?
