So most of us won't get to see Akki, that's disappointing. The more big names in the show the easier it'll be to fork over the $$$.

Oh well, at least in Atlantic City we'll see the other Special Guest 'Mrs Madhuri Dixit' (as billed on the concert site). Didn't realize her hubby's name was Dixit!  Roll Eyes

I guess not Huh

It's not...married named is Nene Smiley

Squeee!  My tickets just came in the mail today.  Now, the $150-per-ticket is worth it just for Aishwarya, but my tickets (for the Oakland show) say Madhuri Dixit will be there as well.  (?!?!?!??!?!?!)  Since she's mostly retired, I'd never even dared to hope of seeing Madhuri live.  This is absolutely huge -- think of the song library!  "Ek Do Teen," "Dhak Dhak," "Choli Ke Peeche," "Maar Dala" ... maybe even "Dola Re Dola"?

I like Akshay too, but I don't mind not seeing him.  Most of today's major Bollywood stars will come around eventually in some tour or another, but Madhuri Dixit (!??!) is truly special, and I don't think Amitabh has toured since the 1990s.  I've grown to really like Preity Zinta over the years, so I'm looking forward to her as well.

The only question mark on this tour for me is Ritesh Deshmukh.  I've only seen him in Naach, and wasn't too impressed (plus, he doesn't even Naach in it).  What songs does he have?

Riteish is a really engaging performer, with great comic timing -- I'd put him high on my list of reasons to consider going to this.  I liked him in Bluffmaster as Abhishek's sidekick.  Everything else I've seen him in has been no good excpet for him!

And AB has said elsewhere that Madhuri and Aishwarya will perform Dola Re Dola.  I wonder if it will even be the closer - though I guess not, I guess the biggest number has to have everyone in it.

I assume Riteish will do various parts performed in the movies by people who aren't in the show.

Darshana you beat me to it!!

First of all, congrats on getting the tickets, Genelia! I can just imagine how excited you are (I mean, I'm excited for you, and I'm not even going! Wink)

I agree with Darhana, Ritheish is awesome and has very good comic timing.  As for his "hit songs" I would imagine he might do things from movies like Masti, Heyy Babyy, and Apna Sapna Money Money.  Maybe not the best movies in the world, but they at least have some good songs.  (And I personally like his dancing Smiley)  Oh! And I'm sure he will perform Boro Boro from Bluffmaster with Abhi. Cool

Darshana, maybe the closer will be Kajra Re?  (Since it's the one that involves all the Bachchans)

Thanks, Darshana and Sarai, for the (very quick!) word about Ritesh. I'll be going to the concert with people who like Bollywood and are familiar with the stars, but aren't as "in the loop" and "I-check-IndiaFM.com-every-day-is-that-bad?" as I am.  So, I'm going to lend them DVDs to make sure they're familiar with the more recent songs.  For example, for Ash+Abhi, I want them to see the songs of Dhoom 2, Guru, Umrao Jaan, KNK, and Bunty Aur Babli. For Ritesh, I'll make sure everybody (including me!) sees Bluffmaster, and I think I have the songs of Masti and ASMM on songs DVDs.

I think the real unknown quantity here is Abhi. I've been an Abhi booster since he was the (pre-Dhoom) King of Flops, but he's never toured before.  He's got some hits to choose from -- Guru, Dhoom 2, KANK, Bluffmaster, Dus, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom -- but I'd love to see him do songs from Yuva, Rakht ("One Love," baby!) and above all Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Realistically, I'll probably squeal myself silly if he just shuffles around a bit onstage

Actually, I think Akshay is only confirmed for Toronto ... I don't think he's planning to be anywhere else.  But, I'm sure Akki will show up in some future concert tour, so I really don't mind that he won't be in San Francisco. Ruby, maybe seeing a poster from one of Akshay's previous shows will make you feel better about not seeing him.

Eep.   Wink

I highly recommend checking out other posters from previous Bollywood concerts ... the 90s were not kind to fashion in Bollywood.

Is Akshay confirmed for Toronto? Where did you hear/read that? If we're getting Akshay (and by 'we' I mean 'Toronto') does that mean we won't be getting Madhuri? I think I'd rather see Madhuri.

Well obviously I know the main list, who will all be very entertaining..that was enough for me to buy tickets...I was just interested in which guests (as in not the main performers) will be performing in Toronto...

My tickets do not list the stars.

Tidbits Grin...listening to this London show and the Wizcraft promoter was there and he did confirm that Akshay was goin to be in the Toronto show...did not say about the other shows though Huh Shocked

His words were..."we have a special guest for the UK show but we cannot say" Huh Shocked "for the US shows some will have Mads"....did not mention Akshay Kumar Sad

The Toronto show is booked, the confirmed stars coming are;

AMITABH BACHCHAN
ABHISHEK BACHCHAN
AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN
AKSHAY KUMAR
PREITY ZINTA
RITESH DESHMUKH
MADHURI DIXIT

Akshay was a no brainer since he has friends in Toronto and often is seen around town, I'm surprised Madhuri is coming here though, I mean she is practically on the other side of the coast, I thought she would only be going to the U.S shows.

That is a pretty good line up IMO.

Where did you get this information? I emailed the promoters of the show, and they said Madhuri will not be performing in Toronto, but she will be performing in Vancouver (as far as the Canada shows)

I really hope Ash does some songs from TAAL!  So many great songs there!   She's had so many great songs by ARR that I know she can't do them all.   Also Kandukondain Kandukondain.   Please do some songs from your South films Ash!

Shilpa joins Bachchan’s for Unforgettable Tour

If you are the best, you settle for nothing but the best. And in the United Kingdom, nothing is hotter and spicier than Shilpa Shetty. As she was taking off for Delhi for a promotional campaign of her yoga video, Shilpa sitting in her car revealed, “I just signed on the dotted line. I will be joining the Bachchans on their famous tour. But its for only those shows that will be organized in London. I am feeling great and actually thrilled to shake a leg with the father and son.”

The actress disclosed that there is a huge bonus for her fans in London. Tickets for the show can be availed from her official website, shilpashettylive.com with special discounts. Shilpa was all smiles when she said, “The website crashed within four hours of its launch after an Indian tabloid mentioned it. It feels great to be so loved.”

I saw this thread before but never bothered on checking it out because I never thought that the Unforgettable Tour would come to Trinidad.. but today I saw an ad for in the newspaper and I SCREAMED!!!

I can't wait for it!! I'm not sure if we're going to get any of the "special appearances" - I'm just happy that I'm going to get to see Amitabh Bachchan!

I can't wait for July 20th!

The promoters have posted info for the Aug. 9 Atlantic City, NJ, and Aug. 15 Nassau Colliseum, NY shows:
http://www.poojanka.com/tickets.html

It looks like Madhuri will be at both, at least for now.

The ticket prices are astoundingly high and both places are huge.
