I like to think SMF stands for S***M**********F*****.  But I'm weird like that.
  Aww, I think this is like the initiation for BW.  Nobody's sure why it happens, but everyone has experienced it.  Some people have suggested trying a proxy server (for examplehttp://w2.hidemyass.com), see if that works.  (There are some other suggestions further back in the thread.  Also, if you are down for a chunk of time, there's a "Fans of BollyWhat" group on facebook, and that's a good place to ask if it's just you, or if the forum is down.

I got this error screen yesterday afternoon, too. If it appears only once in a while, it really just means the server is busy - after all, there are many more, active members on the board now then we had some weeks ago. I hope it won't happen often and to many of us, though, because it could precede a crash.
Anyone else having problems connecting these days?

I get a weird message from "my browser bar" saying it won't load. (may have something to do with firefox and/or an add-on - young /=/ computer expert!!)

Sometimes if I try another page on the board, it loads.

Sometimes it doesn't.

Today it wouldn't load at first, but then I checked again.

I've had short blips here and there (that were remedied by doing a browser refresh), but this evening I couldn't access the forum for a good 45 minutes.  I didn't even get a "SMF Connection Problems" type error- I got a "server not found" error, which is sort of scary...

I was unable to access it as well and complained to the hosting site.  They rebooted the DNS Server and I can see the site again.

Goosed here for ages - but I'm a persistent soul - took an hour or so of looking at that Server Not Found message and feeling sad, but someone obviously put the plug back in.

Saturday and traffic must be heavy.

Just checking to see if I can post now. was getting a duplicate post error message. It is nice to have the Fans of Bollywhat facebook page to report problems when we can't get into the forum. Thanks James and other Mods for helping solve problems when they occur.

In the last 24 hrs I've been getting the smf connection failed message a few times. Mostly if I wait a minute and refresh it's all fine. Just wanted to make sure the mods know :-)
