Awwwww so cute with her baby weight. And I hardly ever see her in an anarkali suit!

Karan: Have you ever analyzed why things have a strange kind of a vibe [around Kareena]?
Priyanka: I don’t know, I think I’m very important in her life somehow.
Karan: *shakes head* Be specific please.
Priyanka: Um, she just always has a lot to say about me. So I’m presuming I’m important in her life.

Q: So Priyanka you open up the newspaper and see Kareena saying, 'Heroine will be better than Fashion so who cares about a national award.'
Priyanka: Well, I guess if you don't have one... then, sour grapes, what do I say!

^I knew this was one board I could come to where people wouldn't make a wise crack about her weight. Or call her fat.
Can't believe what I read sometimes. The woman just had a baby yet they want her to look like she's walking the Cannes red carpet all the time.

I like the colors, but cant really tell what kind of salwar suit she's wearing.
She's covering herself with the dupatta, I suppose to protect herself from silly comments.
I can see the weight gain in her face. I'm sure when she starts working out she'll go back to the way she was before.
I've been told the first few months with a baby are physically exhaustive, can't blame her for taking things easy.
Slightly related note: do you think that women tend to age like their mothers? because all the mothers of actresses are nice full figured women (for example Ash's mom en Priyanka chopra's mom).

Aishwarya looks lovely. I am really annoyed with morons who are calling her 'overweight' even though she has just given birth to a child
. It's just been five months. She probably wants to lose weight naturally over a period of time instead going under the knife. I wish people would give her a break!

I think people have just been conditioned to expect celebrity mothers to slim down within a few weeks. It's really twisted because normal people don't operate that way, and if a woman can't gain weight after having a baby then when CAN she? (oh right, never
)

Do they do it in a healthy/natural manner? We will never know for sure. It is worse in the West though.

The only thing that is bugging me about these outfits is that the coverage is so extreme. Those are all long sleeves, and a couple of high collars, and it's like she doesn't want to expose any skin at all. (Although the high collar on the red outfit does add to the slimming effect of the dress.)
I think some elbow length sleeves (like the blouse her mom is wearing), or even mid-forearm sleeves like Juhi is wearing, or something that flatters her neckline would cut down on the severity of those looks.
(And of course, Aishwarya should wear what makes her comfortable, it's just that she is going out to these events in high fashion stuff, so this more of a critique for the designers and stylists who are charged with making her look good
and
making her comfortable.)

Assuming it's voluntary on her part, I don't think there's anything wrong with her dressing so modestly. Judging from the pictures, she's entered Namitha territory, so perhaps she doesn't want a permanent, accurate record of her current size because she intends to slim down. If she loses weight, we'll probably see her wear less severe outfits.

She looks very pretty and I agree with Dil Bert that she may want to wear less revealing outfits if she is not comfortable with her body. Personally I think she even makes overweight work and she is still more beautiful than any of the slimmer female actors around. But it all comes down to whether
she
feels comfortable or not.

She is beautiful and though I understand why she is probably covering head to toe, Sometimes covering all your body and not revealing even the more slim parts of your body like wrists, forearm and neck line only makes you look even bigger.

You know, I didn't think Aishwarya would actually go to Cannes this year. Good for her - it can't be easy to show up at an event like that knowing that people have been, and will continue to be, even 'judgier' than usual about your appearance.
And I'm so glad she decided to go with Indianwear - something I've been longing for her to wear at Cannes for a long time. She looks regal.
