I ordered from Anytamil what I thought were originals, having gotten a 2in1 by surprise the previous time.  But no, this time they shipped me 2 2in1s as well.  Could someone please list the remaining good Tamil/Telugu DVD sellers?  Thanks!

Well, I used to order all my Telugu DVD's from moviexpress.com, but their site now says they will be down for maintainance "for a few weeks", without giving any date when they will be back in business.  BTW, I got this message a couple of weeks ago, and again just now when I checked.

I hope they get back quick, because I've always had a good experience with them.

Yes, unfortunately moviexpress has been down for a few months already  Undecided

Dil Bert you might want to try http://www.themahal.com/
I haven't had the chance to really use them as the postage here to Europe is a bit steep, but I've heard positive reviews. They have Telugu/Tamil/Malayalam films.

Getting straight from the source:

www.ayngaran.com Tamil
www.suryausa.com/ Malayalam
www.kaddvd.com Telugu

Any good suggestions will be very  welcome.

Suryausa is shipping only within US territory, or has that changed?

No unfortunately not  Sad

Kumari, have you come across any new sites for regional films? Any luck?
It seems one is stuck with anytamil. It's a pity that nehaflix has limited interest in anything other than BW.

Dilbert, were the films older titles? That might make them practically unavailable as anything else other than the odd 2-in-1. It happened to me too while trying to find some oldies, only 2-in-1s arrived, sometimes with out the subtitles promised. It's unpleasant to settle for less, but hmm  Undecided  You might have some luck with VHS casettes, that is if you still have a recorder. Alternately make great friends with someone living in Chennai.

No, unfortunately I couln't find any and especially for malayalam dvds, it looks like there is a huge lack of websites.
Too bad for Anytamil as in the beginning they looked more "professional"  :-/

No, they were recent titles I assumed were finally officially released, as I didn't see any mention of other films in their description (and on my receipt and packing slip, if it comes to that).

At this point I don't care so much about piracy, I just want to know what's being sold so I can personally avoid bootlegs.  Charging me USD17 for one film and sending me a heavily compressed, unsubbed 2 in 1 is IMO bait and switch, even if they are legit DVDs by some stretch of the imagination.

I'm waiting to hear if they will take back the unopened films and refund my money.

ETA: They say they will take back the films and refund my money.  So maybe there's hope.  I guess one has to be a really informed consumer to shop with them.

You can first check ayngaran.com to see if the original dvd is out. But now a days a lot of tamil dvds are not by Ayngaran.
Another way is to check any online rental site like italkies.com or something. Thats how I find out if any new dvds are out in telugu/tamil/malayalam although I do not rent from there.

For malayalam movie fans, there are websites where you can download a lots of these films, but unfortunately they don't have subtitles.
So if you absolutely must watch these films even without subs, pm me.

http://www.dvdunlimitedonline.com/shop/ is a better site for buying Southern dvds.  The owner used to participate in zulm.net forums but have not seen him around there recently.

I must admit to keeping away from those 2-in-1 DVDs.  I've never had any problems with anytamil.  I recently received 2 Telugu and one Malayalam DVDs.  All original and in good condition.

I hadn't had a problem either until recently.  I didn't even know they sold 2-in-1s until I got one in the mail.  So the next time I ordered I was very careful...and got two of the darn things in the mail.  Roll Eyes  We'll see if I get a refund; I just sent them back.

Do you guys think their song compilation DVDs are reliable or worth purchasing?
They have a few SI ones I'm interested in but the prices are steep and will add up quickly. I'm pretty tempted though, because no other site sells SI songs DVDs that I know of. (If you guys know of a place that does, please post or PM me, haha.)
