At Filmfare: Love the saree, the color is good on Vidya. But the green bindi? Looks like my daughter attacked her with a lime green magic marker.

Ugh. I had the misfortune of watching an episode of the reality show 'Band Baaja Bride' when I was in India and it is one of the most preposterously misogynistic things I have ever seen. The premise of the show seems to be to find young brides-to-be, have a group of experts identify their 'flaws' and amplify their insecurities and then 'fix' their flaws so that they are 'perfect' for their husbands. The episode I saw featured a very young women who was going to have an arranged marriage to a man she had never met and amongst other things, she was taken to a plastic surgeon and made to undergo several surgical procedures so that she could look beautiful the first time her husband saw her. I'm really disappointed to see Vidya involved with such a show to be honest.

Totally love how she is always in Indian clothes. I honestly believe Bollywood's re-emerging fashion of wearing saris is down to her!

She looks outstandlingly fantastic in the saris and Indian clothes. I'm not keen on seeing her in western wear.

These pictures have been stuck in my head since yesterday in a very pleasant way indeed. Not that I needed the refresher, but these shots really remind me why I like girls!
