The director of the movie basically said it's a cheap movie so he expects it can make a profit.

Well, all righty then. He sure sounds excited about his project.  Roll Eyes

Iron Man 3.  Makes the same mistake the second one did, of thinking there's entertainment value in watching a messed-up guy mess his life up further, when the appeal of the first movie was precisely that you had this fun and witty but dysfunctional person who was trying to turn things around.  Also, if you've allowed yourself to read the spoilers for Iron Man 3 in advance, the way I did, it's not much fun to watch the good guys march into the bad guy's carefully laid traps over and over again.  But it's seldom actively boring, the humor seemed funnier and less forced than in the second one, the cast is in fine form, and the action setpieces are genuinely cool.

If you meet anyone who raves about how brilliant, unforeseen, and wittily handled the plot twist relating to a certain character is, you have my permission to tie them to the nearest armchair and force them to watch
Amusing trivia: the Hindi language dub supposedly used "Chin ta ta" (yes, from Rowdy Rathore) either for some of the promos or actually in the movie, with permission.

(Warning, not a very sophisticated consumer of music, so this may not be very coherent.)

He does some interesting things with the texture of music, by mixing unexpected instruments together, or setting a strong percussion line to a softly sung vocal line, the way he does with the title track in Aisha.  I think that's where the comparisons to ARRahman come from, and if he ever figures out how to compose a melody that doesn't fall out of your head the moment it finishes playing, he may actually live up to them.

I like the songs I've encountered by him (Aisha, Aiyya, English Vinglish and bits of the Striker, Ishaqzaade, and upcoming Lootera and Ghachakkar soundtracks) well enough, and Dreamum Wakeuppum and the one mellow faux-French-chanson track from Aiyya are downright good.  But the rest of his work seems a bit emotionally stunted to me, and that and the non-catchy tunes make me a bit ambivalent about him.  I'm also enough of a sourpuss to feel disgruntled about seeing him hyped up by people who are down on earworm-y chartbusters on general principle.

Good find!  Shekhar's weary/bemused expression kind of upstages his poster Wink

Thank you for finding this!  I found the slow song okay, maybe a bit boring but the faster one sounded like a really bad attempt to modernized some of the traditional folk-type music.

I believe I've said this before, but I love the location shooting in this movie (as visible in the promos); Paris is very lovingly shot here.

Farah Khan must be losing her touch if people ain't liking the choreography. I thought it was okay. Not noteworthy, but not cringeworthy either.

Is it possible the entire song is not being shown or is the clip the same length as the actual song?

Made a thread about Amit Trivedi so talk of him doesn't take over this one Smiley (because I think we all have something to say about him)

He's being hailed as the new A.R. Rhaman, nabbing all the cool movies, winning awards and praise etc.

But I just don't get it. I love Jhalla Wallah and Dreamum Wakeupum, but nothing else has really grabbed me.

How do you guys feel?

She does look so darn different, I'm afrid she's gotten a bunch of injectables  Undecided She has that swollen, shapeless look to the lower half of her face.

The director of the movie basically said it's a cheap movie so he expects it can make a profit.

A really pretty outfit called a gharara she wore at a promo event for Raajhanaa.  Photos seem to have been selected by her worst enemy, but she still looks cute.

Oh, is that what a gharara is? Glad to know it. Thanks, Odadune!  Smiley
